High Court appeals for more female, BAME, and less privileged judges.

We are now well into the 21st century and still headlines like this are prevalent. It is still the case that in most walks of life anyone who isn’t a white, privileged, male will find that they are at a detriment when it comes to the opportunities that are offered and the distance that they can expect to travel in their career.

Gender, race and religious bias are everywhere, and tackling this at the top of our judiciary is important, but let’s not forget that we need to tackle this everywhere. If you are an employer does it cross your mind how you can make sure that you don’t fall into the trap of discriminating?

I wonder where we will be in 25 years time? Maybe discussion of discrimination will be done by then, or maybe it’s going to take longer than that.

What do you think?
